A few stupid quotes about technology

I admit it...I'm a technology junkie.  If I had more energy tonight, I'd write a little rant about the some of the stupidities associated with proprietary technology artificially forcing certain technologies to be less useful, or the understandable yet stupid reality which is manufactured obsolescence. Still, I want to get in the habit of posting here, so instead, I'll share two of my all-time favorite stupid technology quotes, both coincidentally from Microsoft bigwigs:

“No one will need more than 637 kb of memory for a personal computer. 640K ought to be enough for anybody.”

Bill Gates, 1981

“There’s no chance that the iPhone is going to get any significant market share.”

Steve Balmer, 2007

"Developers, developers, developers, developers, developers!" There, now you have that delicious youtube memory in your head.

Below, Balmer's discussion in more laugh, including an awesome chuckle at the prospect of the iPhone.  For what it is worth, paying $500 and a full data plan and contract does sounds pretty stupid, especially if you aren't thinking about how deeply our society basically runs as a c-conomy.
